Clear Teleprompter
A clear teleprompter is one you can read without effort and without your audience noticing. That is a question of contrast, size and speed, not of price.
What makes a teleprompter clear to read
- Contrast. White text on black beats every decorative alternative at distance.
- Size. Large enough for a full short sentence per line at your real sitting distance.
- Line length. Short lines mean constant eye movement; overly long lines mean losing your place.
- Speed. Slightly slower than your comfortable reading pace.
Clear glass and clear text are different problems
In beam-splitter rigs, “clear” refers to the glass: cheap panels ghost the image and lose light. In browser prompting, clear means legible — and legibility is set by contrast and font size, which cost nothing.

Formatting a script so it reads clearly
Break long sentences into lines that match how you breathe. Put each idea on its own line rather than letting text wrap wherever the container ends.
Write numbers as you will say them — “twenty twenty-six” rather than “2026” — so you never have to translate mid-sentence.
