Prompter Software Windows

Prompter software Windows users can run without installing anything: a browser-based teleprompter that works the same on any PC.

Prompter software Windows users can run in a browser

Traditional prompter software for Windows means a download, a licence key and an update cycle. A browser prompter removes all three — the autocue teleprompter loads in Edge, Chrome or Firefox and behaves identically on every machine.

That matters most on shared or locked-down PCs where you cannot install software at all.

Setting it up on a Windows PC

  1. Open the prompter and paste your script.
  2. Press F11 for full screen so nothing distracts you mid-take.
  3. Position your webcam directly above the scrolling text.
  4. Set the speed, rehearse one pass, then record.

Two monitors, one prompter

On a dual-monitor Windows setup, put the prompter on the display directly beneath or behind your camera and keep your recording software on the other. Your eyeline stays on the lens while you still see your levels.

If your camera sits on top of one monitor, that is the monitor the prompter belongs on — not the larger one.

Prompter Software Windows FAQ

Is browser prompter software as good as a desktop app?

For reading a script at a set speed, yes. Desktop apps add remote control, hardware integration and mirroring for beam-splitter rigs.

Does it work offline on Windows?

Once the page has loaded, the scrolling runs locally. Your script is never uploaded.
